Catedral de Chihuahua
If you are planning on traveling to Chihuahua, the Metropolitan Cathedral is an obligatory stop. This building is a great example of the colonial baroque in northern Mexico, its façade made out of pink quarried stone and its majestic towers, elements that have defined this place over centuries. By visiting it, you get the opportunity to admire its insides, with its decorations and imposing altar. It's more than a religious building; it’s a central piece of Chihuahua's history and art that deserves a visit.
Plaza del Angel
Close to the cathedral lies Plaza del Angel, the default meeting point for locals and tourists. It's a public space designed for enjoyment and socializing, offering an interesting contrast between its green and stone areas. Its atmosphere is dynamic, ideal for taking a moment to enjoy and observe urban life developing around it. The monument to Miguel Hidalgo in the center gives the square its name and reminds the city of its significance. The plaza is also surrounded by multiple important buildings, making it a great starting point to explore downtown Chihuahua.
Museo Casa Chihuahua
This museum is located in what was once the House of Coin and offers a deep learning experience about the identity, history, and natural diversity of the largest state in Mexico. Its permanent and temporal expositions go from prehistoric times and indigenous cultures to the revolution and modern times. The building itself is a historical piece with elegant and notable architecture. It’s a fundamental place to understand the rich heritage of the city and the state, as well as its importance for the country's history.
