Certified eye surgeon in Puebla

Ophthalmologist based in Puebla, Dr. Carolina Orea Ortega, completed her medical studies at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla. She later pursued her Specialty in Ophthalmology and a High Specialty in Anterior Segment Microsurgery at the Fundación Hospital Nuestra Señora de la Luz, a nationally and internationally renowned institution. At the same institution, she served as an attending physician in the Cataract Surgery Department and as head professor of the High Specialty Course in Anterior Segment Microsurgery, endorsed by UNAM, from 2013 to 2020.

She is currently the Vice President of the Ophthalmologists’ College of the State of Puebla, board-certified by the Mexican Council of Ophthalmology, and an active member of multiple professional societies, including the Mexican Society of Ophthalmology, the Mexican Center of Cataract Surgeons, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, among others.
